Around 300 friends, partners, and project participants accepted our invitation to the ground floor of House AB, the future hotel building (Meininger Hotels). We were delighted by this enormous interest.
Inside, guests were able to marvel at the 5.5-meter-high ceilings on the ground floor, while they could admire the high-quality clinker brick façade, built on top of the first exposed concrete arches in the ground floor base area on the outside. The positive response and the current rental situation (91% occupancy) have shown that it is worth investing time, energy, and ultimately money in high-quality architectural design and unique urban development.
In addition to the fact that the shell of such a neighborhood (35,000 sqm GFA) was completed on schedule in times of Corona, the Ukraine crisis, supply bottlenecks, etc., the history of the project was also a reason for our positive emotions:
In late summer 2018, OVUM marked the starting point for Aa.
It marked the start of Friedrich Weil and Volker Busse's entrepreneurial journey together, as well as the start of many partnerships that arose during the project and are now being continued in many other projects.
As part of these many partnerships, we would like to thank everyone involved in the project for this OVUM success story. This is a real reference point for everyone involved in times of budget-optimized and efficiency-driven buildings.
We would particularly like to thank the Schmeing construction group, with whom we entered into an open-book contract before the coronavirus pandemic (i.e., in 2019). This requires a great deal of trust on both sides and a visionary approach to the relationship between the general contractor and the client. Thank you to everyone for their great work. We would also like to thank all the subcontractors who are active on site at the construction site.
