Around 300 friends, partners and project participants followed our invitation to the ground floor of House AB, the future hotel building (Meininger Hotels). We were thrilled by the enormous interest.
The 5.5-meter-high ceilings on the ground floor could be admired, as could the high-quality brick façade in the outdoor area, which is based on the first exposed concrete arches in the base area of the ground floor. The positive response and the current leasing situation (occupancy rate at 91%) have shown that it is worth investing time, energy and, ultimately, money in high-quality architectural language and unique urban development.
In addition to the fact that the shell of such a district (35,000 square meters of gross floor space) was completed on schedule in times of the coronavirus, the Ukraine crisis, supply bottlenecks, etc., the history of the project was also a reason for positive emotions:
The OVUM was the starting point for the Aa in late summer 2018.
The starting signal for Friedrich Weil and Volker Busse to embark on an entrepreneurial journey together and also the starting signal for many partnerships that arose from the project and are now being continued in many other projects.

In the context of these many partnerships, we would like to thank everyone involved in the project for this OVUM success story. This is a real reference for everyone involved in the age of budget-optimized and efficiency-driven buildings.
In particular, we would like to thank the Schmeing Baugruppe, with whom we entered into an open-book contract even before the coronavirus (i.e. in 2019). This requires a great deal of trust on both sides and a visionary approach to the general contractor-client relationship. Thank you for the great work, everyone. Thanks also go to all the subcontractors who are working on the construction site.
Thanks also go to Phase5 GmbH, who developed this unique design. We would also like to take this opportunity to express our particular gratitude to Martin Welp, project manager for OVUM and managing director of Phase 5, as general planner. Your self-sacrificing fight for this project has made it a success. Your coordination skills, know-how and tireless drive are a real weapon.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Of course, our thanks also go to all the specialist planners who work so well together here and form a great team.
