TESTA launch event
A very special week lies behind us: We presented the concept of our TESTA project at a fantastic launch event at the Golden Phoenix in the Hotel Provocateur.
On the outskirts of Berlin, right next to the capital's new BER airport, our vision for sustainable and humane working is taking shape. Digital meets haptic, brick meets nature: spacious, smart office areas in a stimulating and relaxed environment of forest and heath create a unique working environment. An urban quarter with three office buildings and a hotel complex around a green, central square with its own gastronomy, fitness studio and local amenities. Conceived and designed by Alfons & alfreda.
is the eponym and symbol of our vision for sustainable and humane construction. In the area between BER and the lively southeast of Berlin, the working quarter of the future is being built from over a million recycled bricks. From the smallest unit, the individual brick, to air conditioning, water management and the integration of electric mobility, TESTA sets standards and shows what contemporary architecture can achieve.
The idea of sustainability is not only reflected in the choice of building materials and the use of the latest building technology but is also a design feature. The calm, punctuated by striking arches, perforated facade is both a frame and a contrast to the outdoor areas, which were designed in the style of the heathlands of Brandenburg. This connection between architecture and nature creates an aesthetic that is both contemporary and timeless, thus forming the basis for a long and sustainable cycle of use.
The holistic TESTA concept continues in the interior. Raw, robust surfaces and versatile areas that can be adapted to the requirements of an individualized working world form the basis for long-lasting attractiveness and durability. As a sign of our appreciation, we have created a monument to the TESTA idea: a mirrored brick-sized block in a central location. This not only reflects externally what TESTA is all about – the symbiosis of nature and architecture. On 60 square meters, residents and visitors will find selected products that reflect the spirit of TESTA and the region.
