TESTA launch event
We have had a very special week: we presented the concept of our TESTA project at a fantastic launch event at the Golden Phoenix bar at the Hotel Provocateur in Berlin.
On the outskirts of Berlin, right next to the new BER airport, our vision for sustainable and humane working is taking shape. Digital meets haptic, brick meets nature: spacious, smart office spaces in a stimulating and relaxed environment of forest and heath create a unique working environment. An urban quarter with three office buildings and a hotel complex surrounding a green, central square with its own restaurants, gym, and local amenities. Conceived and designed by Alfons & alfreda.
is the namesake and symbol of our vision for sustainable and humane construction. In the area between BER and the lively southeast of Berlin, the campus of the future is being created from over a million recycled bricks. From the smallest unit, the individual brick, to air conditioning, water management, and the integration of electric mobility, TESTA sets standards and shows what contemporary architecture can achieve.
The concept of sustainability is not only reflected in the choice of building materials and the use of state-of-the-art building technology, but is also part of the design program. The calm perforated façade, interspersed with striking round arches, both frames and contrasts the outdoor areas, which were designed in reference to the heathlands of Brandenburg. This combination of architecture and nature creates an aesthetic that is in keeping with the spirit of the times, yet timeless, thus laying the foundation for a long and sustainable cycle of use.
The holistic concept of TESTA continues in the interior. Raw, robust surfaces and versatile areas that can be adapted to the requirements of an individualized working environment form the basis for long-lasting appeal and durability. As a sign of special appreciation, we have created a monument to the TESTA idea: in a central location stands a mirrored cuboid in the proportions of a brick. This not only reflects externally what TESTA stands for – the symbiosis of nature and architecture. On 60 square meters, residents and visitors will find selected products that reflect the spirit of TESTA and the region.
