Whitbread PLC, the British parent company of the Premier Inn hotel brand, has acquired the project development in Sindelfingen from the previous developers Alfons & alfreda and their joint venture partner, Schmeing Baugruppe. This includes the land and a building permit that has already been granted for a 202-room hotel.
With this acquisition, Premier Inn secures its future location and continues the expansion of its premium economy brand Premier Inn in Germany. "Our goal is to be both the operator and property owner of about half of our hotels in Germany. The location in Sindelfingen fits perfectly with our strategy of developing locations in economically strong regions with high demand. We look forward to offering guests our usual value for money and high quality standards here in the future," says Chris-Norman Sauer, Acquisitions Director at Premier Inn.
The property is in a good location and in close proximity to one of Mercedes-Benz's largest plants worldwide. The region benefits from a dynamic economy and excellent transport links to the state capital Stuttgart, which makes the location particularly attractive.
The sales process was legally supported on the seller's side by the Düsseldorf law firm EGSZ. The buyer's side was advised by the law firm Taylor Wessing in Frankfurt.
